Our Story

The heart of Juice for Justice was born from the realities of food insecurity and the disparities that shape so many lives. Its roots trace back to Magdeline’s childhood in a family of nine, where scarce resources meant limited access to nutritious options. Meals often consisted of Hamburger Helper, Totino’s pizza, or even bread slices turned into makeshift dinners. Understanding the importance of a balanced meal came later, alongside the realization that not every child grows up with the same access to healthy food. This experience revealed a deeper truth: access to nutritious food is not distributed equally.

For countless families, survival often outweighs nourishment. Choices about what to buy, what to skip, and how to stretch every dollar are shaped by systems that mismanage resources and marginalize communities by class, race, and geography.

Juice for Justice was created to cultivate new systems, systems that educate, resource, and empower communities facing barriers to accessibility. Our mission is to disrupt poverty cycles by expanding access to healthy food through a sustainable, circular model that uplifts communities, strengthens environmental stewardship, and advances equitable, justice-focused solutions.

At the heart of this work lies community collaboration. Our cornerstone partnership with the Dallas-based Miles of Freedom Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping individuals successfully reenter society after incarceration, embodies this commitment.

We’re deeply grateful for every hand, heart, and organization that believes in this work. Thank you for joining us in reimagining what justice looks like. We hope you’ll continue to follow our journey as we grow, learn, and build together.
